It is said that in 1961, Doug Engelbart had the idea for the mouse during a conference talk. In 1963, he created his first design, which featured rolling wheels that were modeled after the 1800s mechanical area-measuring machines known as planimeters. In the middle of the 1960s, engineers at Telefunken in Germany also created the mouse.
